Boardwalk Fun! Apps: ClassicPAN: Iris: AutoPainter ll: LensLight

Last night I decided to visit the boardwalk in Ocean City as it was my last night at the beach and I wanted to make a few more iPhone shots at the Amusement area. I loved the bumper cars as a kid so I sought out the area where the very same ones still run and made the opening shot.
Jolly Roger Rides
Jolly Roger Carousel

The Jolly Roger Carousel and the wonderful old carousel in the Kiddie part of the amusement area also called me back to make some more images. The older carousel is a real gem! It is from the Herschell Spillman company which operated in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The images below are from that carousel. I added some touches of the LensLight app incorporating some light effects such as sparkles and round highlights.  I wish I could get inside the safety railings to get a few more full length shots.

And then I had to try and get some more Fun House Mirror shots. It is fun to watch the kids as they play in front of these.

The balloon dart game is a also fun: Here I added some LensLight Sparkle after processing the image in Autopainter ll.

It was a little slow at the Atlantic Stand and I love the old fashioned counter stools with one missing so I made a couple shots there.

And at the end of the beach day, colorful towels can be seen draping railings of many of the old beach houses. Its been a good week and I hope to return in July!

Boardwalk Ocean City: ClassicPan:Iris:AutoPainter ll

ClassicPAN: Iris~FX Comic:LensLight:  AutoPainter ll Felt tip: Blends in Iris: Crop'n'Frame and KingCamera Border
Last night I headed south to Ocean City, Maryland boardwalk and amusement area. As a child I remember my parents and the family spending time there after a day at the beach. I always loved the rides especially the bumper cars. The amusement area has grown since then, but I was surprised to see the old rides still in tact. The MerryGo Round is the same, as well as the bumper cars. Great times....good memories, so I made some shots there.

Fun House Mirrors..I love this one! When I was standing in front of these mirrors trying to figure out how to shoot it without getting myself in the image a young family walked into the scene! Serendipity! I could do a whole series on this theme..but my week is running short so maybe when I get back in July I will get a few more of these shots.

More beach work!

I went out again last night to get out of the house and have some beach time and of course I had the iPhone with me, so I made some shots wherever I went. I seem to be a bit stuck on this AutoPainter ll Felt tip, but the app works so well with the beach stuff because to me it is a bit whimsical in nature; and the beach is about fun! All these shots were processed with AutoPainter ll and then blended back with the original in Iris until I got the blend I liked. I also ran them through Perfect Photo sharpen to give them a little more edge. So here are a few from my rambles last night.

ClassicPan App and the iPhone Goes to the Boardwalk in Bethany Beach

ClassicPAN: AutoPainter ll~Felt tip: Iris blended with original: Crop'n'Frame: KingCamera~ Border
I discovered the app ClassicPAN today. Well, its been out since August last year, but there are so many apps out there you could spend a lifetime exploring! I like this app. It is a full rez app you have to go into your settings and set the rez. (It downloads in the default smaller file size.)
After getting chased off the beach today with some thunderstorms in the late afternoon, I decided I wanted to go out to eat. So I went to Mango Mikes..a beachy restaurant by the ocean, with coconut shrimp! It has an outside deck overlooking the boardwalk and the beach.
Then I took a walk along the boards and make a few more shots. I love the colors of beach stuff, like these umbrellas wrapped in plastic out front of a store.

And the colors of Styrofoam wave boards racked for sale and the colorful dispensers for hot dogs and hamburgers.
